Rancho Palos Verdes was founded on September 7th, 1973. In the early 20th century, the area underwent significant development as visionary entrepreneurs recognized its potential for upscale residential living. One such figure was Frank Vanderlip, who purchased a vast tract of land and embarked on an ambitious project to create the Palos Verdes Peninsula as a haven of luxury living. His efforts laid the foundation for the creation of Rancho Palos Verdes and its neighboring communities. 

Today, Rancho Palos Verdes stands as a testament to Vanderlip's vision, offering residents an unparalleled quality of life amidst breathtaking natural beauty. The city is renowned for its stunning coastline, which boasts iconic landmarks such as the Point Vicente Lighthouse and the dramatic cliffs of Terranea Resort.

Rancho Palos Verdes has a total of 42,292 inhabitants according to the 2023 census. The city is located in Los Angeles County and is notorious for its large area of lands as well as an exquisite view of the Pacific Ocean. 

Rancho Palos Verdes ranked among the top 50 richest communities in the country, according to a 2022 report from 24/7 Wall Street. The report looked at communities with populations of at least 25,000 based on median household income and home value, according to data from the U.S. Census Bureau's American Community Survey.
